Eyrie — Advertising Standards and Advertiser Rules
Effective date: 7 October 2026 Last updated: 29 October 2026
1. Our position on advertising
1.1 There are no ads in the Eyrie apps, and we never use or share information from your Eyrie account for advertising. In the Eyrie apps — for parents and for children — we do not:
(a) display third-party ads;
(b) use behavioural or cross-context tracking, ad identifiers, advertising SDKs or advertising cookies;
(c) allow advertising networks or data brokers to collect personal information through the apps; or
(d) profile users — least of all children — for advertising.
1.2 Ads on our public website. Some pages of our public marketing website — the home, features and pricing pages — show ads served by Google AdSense. Those ads are shown to website visitors, not inside the apps, and Google never receives information from your Eyrie account. How Google uses cookies on those pages, and how to turn off personalised ads, is explained in our Cookie Policy.
1.3 This position is a deliberate part of what Eyrie is. It is reflected in our Privacy Policy and What Eyrie Does.
2. Why this document exists
2.1 This document is our advertising standards. It records the rules for the ads on our website and for any other advertising, sponsorship or partnership placement we may introduce. Publishing them sets a clear standard and makes our commitments testable.
2.2 Before we introduce advertising anywhere else, we will:
(a) update our Privacy Policy, Google Play Data Safety declaration and Apple privacy labels before doing so;
(b) tell users clearly and in advance; and
(c) require every placement to comply with the rules below and with all applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law, the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), the AANA Codes (including the AANA Code of Ethics and the Children's Advertising Code), and the app-store advertising policies.
3. Absolute prohibitions
3.1 The following are prohibited in any circumstances:
(a) No advertising targeted at children. No ad may be targeted to, or designed to appeal primarily to, a person known or likely to be a minor.
(b) No behavioural tracking or profiling of minors for advertising, and no use of a minor's personal information (including any location or telemetry) to select, target or measure advertising — ever.
(c) No sale or sharing of personal information from your Eyrie account for advertising or marketing, and no use of Eyrie data to build advertising profiles.
(d) No use of location, movement, place, SOS, alert, medical or message data for any advertising purpose.
(e) No ad-tech in child-facing surfaces. No advertising SDKs, ad identifiers, pixels or trackers in the Child Device experience.
(f) No ads on pages about safety or the law. Our legal and policy pages, our contact page, and any page about emergencies or children's safety never show ads.
4. Content standards
4.1 Every ad or placement we show must:
(a) be family-appropriate and suitable for a general audience that includes parents and children;
(b) be truthful, accurate and not misleading, and comply with the ACL and the AANA Codes;
(c) be clearly labelled as advertising, sponsored or a partnership, and be visually distinct from Eyrie's own content;
(d) not imply endorsement by Eyrie unless a genuine endorsement exists and is disclosed; and
(e) link only to reputable, safe destinations.
4.2 Google chooses the individual ads shown on our website. If you see an ad there that breaks these standards, tell us at support@eyrie.au and we will block it.
5. Prohibited advertiser categories
5.1 The following categories are prohibited regardless of targeting:
(a) alcohol, tobacco, vaping and other age-restricted products;
(b) gambling and wagering;
(c) weapons, or violent, hateful or discriminatory content;
(d) adult or sexual content;
(e) surveillance, "spyware"/"stalkerware", or covert tracking products, and anything encouraging monitoring a person without consent (this is contrary to Eyrie's Acceptable Use Policy);
(f) misleading health, financial or "get-rich" schemes;
(g) political or issue advertising, unless separately approved and lawfully authorised; and
(h) anything unlawful or contrary to the app-store policies.
6. Disclosure, data and compliance
6.1 Ads on our website are served by Google, which uses cookies as described in our Cookie Policy. No information from your Eyrie account — including anything about your children — is given to Google or any other advertiser.
6.2 Advertisers and partners must comply with all applicable laws and codes, must not attempt to identify or target individual users or households using Eyrie data, and must provide substantiation for any claims on request.
7. Enforcement
7.1 We may reject, remove or suspend any placement that breaches these standards, without liability, and may terminate any advertising or partnership arrangement for breach.
